Bulk Rock Salt

Bulk salt is commonly referred to as road salt, and is regularly used for de-icing roads, driveways, sidewalks, walkways, patios, steps, for both residential and commercial outlets.

The most important characteristics of rock salt is its capacity for deicing and removing the snow on paved or hardscaped surfaces.

Rock salt’s deicing power lies in its ability to lower the glacial point of water, often referred to as 'freezing point depression. The salt breaks into its component ions in a small amount of liquid water. The added particles make it more difficult for surrounding water to freeze, ultimately preventing or reducing ice build up, and increasing safety for vehicle and pedestrian movement.
